Rent Changes in Popular Areas in Glasgow09 Oct 2017
Rightmove recently released their Quarterly Rightmove Rental Trends Tracker which shows what rents are doing throughout the country and I thought it would be timely to check on what rents in Glasgow in the popular areas have been doing in the last 9 months of this year compared to the last couple of years. The Rightmove Trend tracker shows that excluding London, rents have gone up by 1.9% overall, and in Scotland we seem to be flowing the same trend with an increase, however it’s a smaller one with the annual change at 0.2%.
We are seeing different results in the Glasgow areas which we cover at Fineholm, with certain areas showing increases in the 9 months to end September at 8, 9, 10% or over. The areas which are showing these increases are Charing Cross and Finnieston with average rents rising from £636 in 2015 , to £669 in 2016 and £741 in 2017, almost an 11% increase this year! The other areas showing big increases are Woodlands, Merchant City, North Kelvinside, Battlefield and Dennistoun.
These areas continue to be very popular because of their proximity to the city center, great transport links and attractive surroundings…
