    So Labour have announced that part of their manifesto is to cap rent increases,offer tenants the security of longer term tenancies and crack down on letting agents fees in England) and a few of the other parties, Greens in particular have said they may back some of the policies. There is much debate about the pros and cons for the various parties impacted. What's my opinion as a letting agent in Scotland?

    We are now reaching the end of the first quarter of 2015 and it certainly has been a very busy start to the year. Every day I am asked what is happening with the market and are houses prices going to continue to increase. I guess the simple answer is we do not know but if demand continues to grow and supply does not pick up then there is going to be competition and with that higher prices.

    It’s that time of year again... the HMO properties are all becoming available, boards are popping up in the usual traditional hotspots, Brunstfield, Marchmount, Tollcross and tenants minds are turning to what they are going to do and where they are going to live come the summer months.

    As a tenant, if I need some maintenance done in my rental property, whose responsibility is it to get it done and why can’t you as my agent arrange it as soon as I report it?
