The East coast lettings market has experienced a real uplift over the summer with demand for 1, 2 and 3 beds within a mile of the city centre outstripping supply. The Edinburgh market remains very busy throughout the year however it would be true to say it has been busier than ever, particularly July and August.
For properties going on the market, asking rents for 1 and 2 bed well-presented properties close to the city have increased by between 5-7% and properties have been renting very quickly with many properties being taken in 1 day.
Other properties renting well are family houses in good locations further away from the city, areas such as Tranent, Prestonpans in East Lothian and Saughton/ Slateford in Edinburgh.
