Guide To Renting

Step 1: Find the right property

Search through our website to find the right property for you, like us on Facebook to get updates ( Priority Previews) on newly available properties or simply give us a call! We’ll set up a viewing with you and start the rental process. We appreciate that everyone has busy lives so we do viewings 6 days a week 9am- 7pm. We also offer video viewings for all our properties and you can make viewings at a time that suits you,  through our online diary system

Fineholm's Guide to Renting Property

Step 2: Secure the property

If you decide the property is the right one for you (see applying for a Fineholm Property) we require a holding deposit (£250) which secures the property for you. This forms part of your security deposit. You will then receive our terms of rental.

Step 3: Credit Checking Process

We require full credit checks on all adults over the age of 18 who will be living in the property. We use a company called Vouch to collate the necessary paperwork. The completion of this process should take no more than a week – but remember we need applicants to provide the right information! Once completed we will contact you to arrange a lease signing ( normally done electronically)

Step 4: Signing the lease

Although we normally sign the lease electronically you will still need to come into the office to uplift the keys. This is done on an appointment only basis and  we require photographic ID to release keys. As standard, we take one month’s rent in advance and one month’s rent deposit.

Step 5: Moving in

Before moving in you will be issued with full tenant information, an inventory of contents and condition, a set of keys for each leaseholder and instruction for future payment. In Glasgow each property has a dedicated maintenance manager – you will be advised at your lease signing.

Step 6: During your tenancy

Fineholm is your first point of contact for any issue relating to a managed property. We will do our very best to resolve any issues you may have. If you have any maintenance (maintenance@fineholm.co.uk) or other issues to report please contact us.

Step 7: Ending your tenancy

Once we have received adequate notice to end your tenancy we will send you correspondence advising of the procedure and date and time of your termination appointment. At this time a Fineholm representative will visit the property to check you out, we would advise you to be present at this appointment (during Covid our practise has been changed).
